DESCRIPTION:(Stockton\, CA)  The San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host its 3rd   Annual Leaders' Luncheon on Business on Thursday\, August 4\, at the Stockton Golf & Country Club.  This year's luncheon is titled\; "Engaging Latinos in Politics" and will provide an inside look on the opportunities facing Latino voters and elected official at the local level and statewide. \n\nThis year\, the program will feature keynote speaker Mike Madrid of GrassrootsLab\, who will share research data and analysis form cross the state on Latino election participation\, the benefits of Latino small business community getting involved in local government and the shared advocacy opportunities between Latino Business owners and State Elected officials.  Topics for the luncheon include how to become involved in civic engagement positions\, what skill-sets are important when considering running for office and the importance of participating in the civic process.\n\n"This luncheon serves an important purpose in engaging business leaders\, elected officials and the Hispanic community in the San Joaquin region\," stated Bob Gutierrez\, Government Affairs Director for Food 4 Less Rancho San Miguel and President of the San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  "By providing an educational forum where attendees and business owners can better understand important elements of the civic process\, the Chamber can promote the engagement of its members at a state and regional level.  This kind of information also allows a clear line of communication with our local elected officials." \n\nCost for the event is $35 per person.
