DESCRIPTION:Join Professor Keith Hatschek\, Music Management Program Director\, as he welcomes faculty members Jonas Bjalesjo and Henric Lindstrom from the Linnaeus School of Business and Economics to discuss Sweden?s Impact on the Global Music and Entertainment Industry. Sweden\, a country of less than ten million people\, has had an outsized impact on the global entertainment marketplace. It is the third largest exporter of music product in the world\, behind the US and UK. It?s home to innovative companies such as Spotify\, Skype\, IKEA\, gaming giants Rovio\, Minecraft and King\, as well as artists as diverse as Avicii\, Swedish House Mafia\, Max Martin\, Shellback\, Basshunter\, Robyn\, Dr. Luke and Tove Lo. The symposium will explore what makes Sweden such a prolific music incubator as well as what types of connections exist for collaboration between Swedish and US music and entertainment entities. This event is a collaboration between the Music Management Program\, Conservatory of Music\, International Programs and Services\, Pac Ave Records and the Music Management Club at Pacific.
