Frank Cohen is an internationally renowned soloist and has been the principal clarinetist with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra and on faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music since 1976. Cohen, with his daughter, violinist Diana Cohen, is the co-artistic director of the critically acclaimed ChamberFest Cleveland, the first international summer chamber music festival in Cleveland, which presented its inaugural season in 2012. His playing has been described as ?hypnotic, impeccable, brilliant? with a vocal quality that would be the envy of any singer.? All of which barely scratches the surface of Frank Cohen's career. For his recital at Pacific, Mr. Cohen will be performing works by Mozart, Gershwin, Francis Poulenc, Carlos Guastavino, and Mieczyslaw Weinberg; he will be joined by Dmitriy Cogan, piano and Jerome Simas, clarinet/bass clarinet.
