Trio 180 will be joined by Igor Veligan on viola for the performance of works by Dvorak and Anton Arensky. About Trio 180: Trio 180 is the Conservatory?s faculty piano trio made up of Dr. Ann Miller, Violin, Nina Flyer, Cello, and Dr. Sonia Leong, piano. Trio 180 brings chamber music from the Classical and Romantic Eras to life and are active advocates for new music. Since its formation, Trio 180 has premiered new works by living composers such as Allan Crossman, Derek Jacoby, and the Conservatory?s own, Francois Rose; and, in 2006, commissioned celebrated composer Chen Yi?s first piano trio, Tibetan Tunes. In addition to promoting contemporary music, Trio 180 travels to elementary and high schools around California presenting interactive programs and educating young people, and performs around North America. Trio 180 has recently released its first album, Trio 180, which is available online at northpacificmusic.com.
